How It Works
Four steps. You are in control of the words the whole way, and nothing prints – and nothing is charged – until you approve the finished proof.
Choose the photo that looks most like them, and answer a few questions – their name, what made them themselves, a moment you keep coming back to. There are no required essays; a few honest details are enough, and you can share as much as you like. If the piece is a gift, the memories you know secondhand work too.
An original tribute or letter is drafted from the details you gave – not chosen from a library. You read it as it takes shape, ask for another take if the first is not quite right, and change any line yourself. The words are typeset beside the photograph on cream paper, with their name and dates set into the design.
Before any payment, you see the complete piece exactly as it will print: every word, the layout, the photograph. Take your time with it; the proof does not expire. Request changes until it is right. When you approve it, you pay, and only then does it go to print. A person at the studio reviews every approved order before printing.
Your piece is printed as a giclée on archival paper – the printing process galleries use – then set in a gallery frame behind protective facing and shipped ready to hang. It arrives well-protected, with a signed note card in the box when it is a gift.
Timelines
Your proof is usually ready the same day you share your memories. Approval has no deadline; some people approve in an hour, some sit with it for a week.
After you approve, each piece is made to order: about 5–7 business days in production, then 3–5 business days in transit. Plan on roughly 8–12 business days from approval to doorstep, with a tracking number emailed to you when it ships.
Shipping within the US is free on every order.
If something is not right
Until your piece goes to print, you can change your mind for a full refund. Because you approve the exact proof before paying, what arrives is what you approved – the same picture, on paper.
If it arrives damaged, we replace it at no cost. If anything else goes wrong, write to us and a person will sort it out.
