1. Agreement
Known Truly is operated by HD Productions LLC dba Known Truly, based in Missouri, United States. By using knowntruly.com or placing an order, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site or our services.
We have tried to write these terms the way we write everything else: plainly. If anything here is unclear, ask us at [email protected].
2. What we make
Known Truly creates personalized tributes. Each piece combines:
- A poem or letter written from the memories you share – drafted with the help of AI writing tools, guided entirely by what you tell us, and reviewed by a person before it prints;
- A photo you provide of the person the piece honors;
- A finished format you choose: a framed archival print, an unframed print, or a digital keepsake file.
Every piece is custom-made to order. No two are alike.
3. Proof approval comes before payment
Our ordering flow works in this order, on purpose:
- You see the finished proof first. Before any money changes hands, we show you the complete piece – every word of the writing, your photo, the full design.
- You approve it. Your approval of that exact proof is recorded, and only then does checkout open. Payment completes the order for the piece you approved.
- We review it too. After payment, a person here reviews every order before it is released to print.
Because you approve the artwork before paying, what arrives is the piece you saw. If you edit anything after approving, the approval is cleared and you will be shown a fresh proof to approve before you can pay.
4. Your content
The photos, memories, stories, and names you share remain yours. By submitting them, you grant HD Productions LLC dba Known Truly a limited, non-exclusive license to use them solely to create your tribute, generate your proof, produce and fulfill your order, and operate the private tribute page connected to it. We do not sell your content, and we do not use it in marketing without your explicit, separate permission.
You confirm that you have the right to use any photo you upload – you took it, you own it, or you have permission from whoever does. You agree not to submit content that is unlawful or that infringes someone else's rights.
The finished piece is yours to enjoy, display, and give – for personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce or resell the design or the writing commercially.
5. Our property
The Known Truly website, design templates, layouts, ordering system, and the processes we use to create our products belong to HD Productions LLC dba Known Truly. So do our name, wordmark, and visual identity. Purchasing a tribute does not transfer any of these to you.
6. Ordering and payment
- All prices are in US dollars. The price shown at approval is the price you pay; framed and print orders ship free within the United States.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- We may decline or cancel an order – for example, where we suspect fraud or where content violates these terms – and will refund in full any order we cancel before production.
7. Personalized goods
Because every piece is made to order from your photo and your memories, it cannot be restocked or resold. Once a piece you approved has gone to print, the order cannot be cancelled and the piece cannot be returned – but if it arrives damaged or defective, we make it right at no cost. 8. Delivery
We currently ship within the United States only. Timelines and details are in the Shipping Policy. Digital keepsakes are delivered by email and involve no shipping.
9. Disclaimers
We put real care into every piece, and we stand behind our work through the policies above. Beyond what those policies and these terms expressly promise, the site and services are provided “as is,” and, to the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Slight variations in color and finish between a screen proof and a physical print are inherent to printing and are not defects.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the total liability of HD Productions LLC dba Known Truly arising out of or relating to an order or these terms is limited to the amount you paid for that order, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved between us informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Missouri. We would much rather resolve things by email first – please write to us before anything else.
12. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time; the date at the top reflects the latest version. Orders are governed by the terms in effect when the order is placed.
